Terms of Use
Effective Date: September 4, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use apply to your use of the Florida Safe Home website and the Get Matched service. By using this website or submitting a project request, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the information you provide.
2. What Florida Safe Home Does
Florida Safe Home is a service that helps homeowners connect with contractors for home-improvement projects, and publishes general educational information for Florida homeowners.
Florida Safe Home does not perform your construction work. We are not your contractor, construction manager, architect, engineer, building official, lender or insurer, and we do not guarantee the work of any contractor.
3. Eligibility
To submit a project request you must be at least 18 years old, the request must concern a property located in Florida, and you must be the property owner or otherwise authorized to request work for the property. Please provide accurate and complete information.
4. Submitting a Project Request
When you submit a Get Matched request, you are asking Florida Safe Home to share information about your project with participating contractors so that a contractor who may be able to help can be connected with you, and you agree that a contractor may contact you about the project you submitted.
Submitting a request is free for homeowners and does not obligate you to hire anyone or to move forward with a project.
5. How Contractor Connections Work
After you submit a request, we review it and may present it to one or more participating contractors. Contractors initially see limited project information. When a contractor takes on your project through the platform, your contact details and project information may be released to that contractor so they can reach out to you.
Whether and when a contractor responds is up to that contractor. You are free to speak with other contractors, request additional proposals, or decide not to proceed.
6. No Guarantee of a Match, Availability, Pricing or Performance
Florida Safe Home does not guarantee:
- That you will receive a contractor match
- That any contractor will be available or will accept your project
- Any particular pricing, estimate or proposal
- Project completion, scheduling or timelines
- Workmanship, materials or warranties
- Permitting outcomes or inspection results
7. Contractors Are Independent
Participating contractors are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents or partners of Florida Safe Home, and they control their own operations, pricing and scheduling.
Your estimate, proposal, construction agreement, pricing, payment terms, project scope, warranties and the performance of the work are matters between you and the contractor you select, subject to applicable law and the agreements you enter into with that contractor. Florida Safe Home is not a party to your construction contract.
8. Contractor Application Review and Limitations
Contractors may go through an application review before participating in our network. That review is limited and takes place at a point in time. Florida Safe Home does not perform comprehensive background investigations, does not continuously monitor a contractor's licensing, insurance or financial condition, and does not guarantee any contractor's licensing, insurance, workmanship or performance.
You remain responsible for evaluating any contractor you consider, including reviewing applicable licensing and insurance, references, proposals, contracts and project documentation before proceeding.
9. Homeowner Responsibilities
When you use this website, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about yourself, your property and your project
- Submit requests only for property you own or are authorized to act for
- Communicate directly with contractors about scope, pricing and scheduling
- Review documents carefully before signing anything or making a payment
10. Estimates, Proposals and Contracts
Any estimate or proposal you receive comes from the contractor, not from Florida Safe Home. Prices, scopes and terms may change based on site conditions, materials, inspections and other factors. We recommend obtaining written proposals, reading the full contract, and asking questions before signing or paying a deposit.
11. Permits and Licensing
Permit and licensing requirements depend on the type of project, its scope, the property's location, the local jurisdiction and applicable law. Requirements are not the same for every project. You and your contractor should confirm the requirements that apply to your property and project with the appropriate local building department or authority.
12. Educational Content Is Not Professional Advice
We publish general homeowner education on subjects such as roofing, impact windows and doors, remodeling, choosing a contractor, permits and project planning. This content is general information only.
It is not legal, engineering, architectural or financial advice, is not code approval, and is not project-specific professional advice. For advice about your property or project, consult a qualified professional.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Florida Safe Home and its owners, personnel and service providers from claims, damages, losses and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the website, your violation of these Terms or applicable law, or information you submit that is inaccurate or that you were not authorized to submit.

You agree that any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, subject to applicable law.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website after an update means the updated Terms apply to your use of the site.
